The sweet melons are sourced from certified farms with strict guidelines to meet export quality standards. Sweet Melons are one of the main fruit categories exported into Europe. Convenience and taste are important drivers for consumption. The market is supplied by European melon producers and complemented by exporters, mainly from developing countries. It is a competitive market and as a supplier we ensure quality and differentiation in mind.

For the consumption of melons, taste and a constant quality are determining factors for purchasing. The increasing importance of taste is visible along the whole fruit segment. Well-ripened, sweet and soft-fleshed melons have the preference. On the other hand, prematurely harvested and unripe melons, often at the beginning of the season, can have a negative influence on consumer behaviour for the rest of the season. We have inculcated a more sustainable approach to production and processing. We observe environmental and social issues to ensure environmental certification schemes including actions to strongly reduce and register the use of pesticides, take action on the safety of employees and/or even include price guarantees.
